Summer breaks are great times to get kids out and about; museums are a great way to keep them learning during their break. One of the most fun activities are the interactive learning tools they provide. From interactive screens, to touch screen and video, kids and adults can make the most out of their visit.
Many museums have incorporated interactive media as part of their perks and features, to entice visitors to have fun while visiting the museum. One of the most common interactives are the touch screens; which can have trivia puzzles, information about the display, and more.
Studies on Interactive Media
There's a study conducted in interactive exhibitions in museums in the UK. This study analyzed data of visitor response to experiences in museums.
They found that museum visitors find interactive tools more fun, appealing; also they remember more of their visit. On the other hand, when there are no interactives, they find the visit boring, with nothing to do other than look and read at labels. Also, they find that visitors absorb less of the information when there are no interactives.
